Goodman Furnace Code EEB
Hard lockout
The control board is not energizing the gas valve when it should be. No gas, no heat.
Manual wording: “Integrated Control Board is not energizing the gas valve when it should be on.”
Documented for: Goodman GMVC96, GCVC96, GMVM97, GCVM97, GM9S80, GC9S80, GR9S80, GD9S80, GR9T96, GD9T96 (seven-segment display controls)
Likely causes, most common first
- Miswired gas valve circuit
- Open gas valve circuit
- Gas valve relay on integrated control board stuck open
When to call a technician
Gas valve circuit diagnosis is technician work. The manual is explicit that the control board, not the gas valve, is the part to replace for this code.
A Goodman furnace throwing this code repeatedly has a reason — clearing the code without fixing the cause just hides it.
