Manual wording: “L8 Inverter current abnormality”
Documented for: RMXS multi-split outdoor units
Likely causes, most common first
- Compressor overload
- Compressor coil disconnected
- Defective main PCB (A1P)
What you can safely check yourself
- Check the outdoor unit is clear of debris and has proper airflow
- Check and replace the indoor unit air filters
- Turn the system off at the breaker or disconnect switch and back on once
When to call a technician
The manual's path is to inspect the compressor and refrigerant system and often replace the compressor. Technician only.
A Daikin mini-split throwing this code repeatedly has a reason — clearing the code without fixing the cause just hides it.
