Daikin Mini-Split Code C7
Warning
Front panel open/close fault. On models with a motorized front panel, the panel did not move to the position the control commanded.
Manual wording: “C7 Front panel open/close fault”
Documented for: CTXG09/12/18QVJUW(S) designer wall-mount units
Likely causes, most common first
- Defective reduction motor
- Malfunction or deterioration of the front panel mechanism
- Defective limit switch
What you can safely check yourself
- Check nothing is physically blocking the front panel from opening or closing
- Turn the system off at the breaker or disconnect switch and back on once, then watch whether the panel moves
When to call a technician
If the panel still will not move, the panel motor or limit switch needs replacing. Do not force the panel by hand.
A Daikin mini-split throwing this code repeatedly has a reason — clearing the code without fixing the cause just hides it.
