Fujitsu Mini-Split Code 95
Hard lockoutShown as: OPERATION lamp blinks 9 times, TIMER lamp blinks 5 times, ECONOMY lamp blinking continuously
Compressor motor control error (rotor position detection error). The control cannot keep track of the compressor rotor position, so the compressor stops; if it repeats within 40 seconds of restart it stops again and can go to a permanent stop.
Manual wording: “Compressor Motor Control Error - If the detected rotor location is out of phase with actual rotor location more than 90 degrees, the compressor stops.”
Documented for: RL2, RLS2, RLS3, RLB/RLXB, RLF, RLF1, RGLX, RLE, LUAS1, LMAS, LZBS, LZAS, LPAS series
Likely causes, most common first
- Connector removed or loose on the compressor leads
- Erroneous connection at the compressor terminals
- Open compressor lead cable
- Failed compressor or inverter board
What you can safely check yourself
- Turn the power off at the outdoor disconnect and breaker for about 5 minutes, then restore power
When to call a technician
This is a compressor-drive fault. Compressor terminal and winding checks are high-voltage work for a licensed technician only.
A Fujitsu mini-split throwing this code repeatedly has a reason — clearing the code without fixing the cause just hides it.
