Fujitsu Mini-Split Code 58

Intake grille error. The micro switch that proves the intake grille is closed read open while the compressor was running.

Likely causes, most common first

  1. Intake grille or front panel not fully closed and latched
  2. Failed limit / micro switch
  3. Loose connector CN11 or damaged wire
  4. Failed indoor controller PCB

What you can safely check yourself

  • Open and re-close the intake grille or front panel until it clicks fully shut on both sides
  • Make sure the filters are seated properly so the grille can close all the way
  • Turn the power off at the breaker for about 5 minutes and back on

When to call a technician

If the grille is definitely latched and the code stays, the micro switch or its wiring has failed and a technician must replace it.

A Fujitsu mini-split throwing this code repeatedly has a reason — clearing the code without fixing the cause just hides it.
