Amana Furnace Code EEH
Soft lockout
Twinning error. Two furnaces are set up to run as a pair and the controls cannot communicate, so the blowers will not run together.
Manual wording: “Error with Twinning function.”
Documented for: Amana AMVC96, ACVC96, AMVM97, ACVM97, AM9S80, AC9S80, AR9S80, AD9S80, AR9T96, AD9T96 (seven-segment display controls)
Likely causes, most common first
- Both furnaces not on the same 120VAC power from the breaker panel
- Low voltage wiring error or loose wiring connections
- Damaged twinning wire between the two control boards
When to call a technician
Twinned furnace wiring is an installer configuration. Call the contractor who installed the pair.
A Amana furnace throwing this code repeatedly has a reason — clearing the code without fixing the cause just hides it.
