Documented for: Amana AMVC96, ACVC96, AMVM97, ACVM97, AM9S80, AC9S80, AR9S80, AD9S80, AR9T96, AD9T96 (seven-segment display controls)

Likely causes, most common first

  1. Blown fuse
  2. Short in low voltage wiring
  3. Back of control board is touching mounting panel because standoffs are missing

What you can safely check yourself

  • Check the furnace breaker in the electrical panel and reset it once if tripped

When to call a technician

The fuse blew because of a short. Replacing it without finding the short just blows another one - have a technician trace the low-voltage wiring.

A Amana furnace throwing this code repeatedly has a reason — clearing the code without fixing the cause just hides it.
