Amana Furnace Code EE2
Soft lockout
Low-stage pressure switch never closed. The draft inducer is running but the control cannot prove venting, so the burners will not light. Usually a blocked vent pipe or a plugged condensate drain.
Manual wording: “Low-stage pressure switch circuit open.”
Documented for: Amana AMVC96, ACVC96, AMVM97, ACVM97, AM9S80, AC9S80, AR9S80, AD9S80, AR9T96, AD9T96 (seven-segment display controls)
Likely causes, most common first
- Pressure switch hose blocked, pinched, or connected improperly
- Blocked flue pipe and/or inlet air pipe, blocked drain system or weak induced draft blower
- Incorrect pressure switch set point or malfunctioning switch contacts
- Loose or improperly connected wiring
What you can safely check yourself
- Check the outdoor intake and exhaust pipes for snow, ice, leaves or a nest
- Check the condensate drain line and trap for a clog or standing water
- Make sure drifting snow has not buried the vent terminal
When to call a technician
If the pipes and drain are clear, the pressure switch, hose and inducer need a technician. Do not bypass the pressure switch.
A Amana furnace throwing this code repeatedly has a reason — clearing the code without fixing the cause just hides it.
