Amana Furnace Code EE0
Soft lockout
Ignition lockout. The furnace made three attempts to light, never proved flame, and locked out. It retries on its own after about an hour.
Manual wording: “Furnace lockout due to excessive number of ignition "retries" (3 total).”
Documented for: Amana AMVC96, ACVC96, AMVM97, ACVM97, AM9S80, AC9S80, AR9S80, AD9S80, AR9T96, AD9T96 (seven-segment display controls)
Likely causes, most common first
- No gas or improper gas pressure to burners
- Bad igniter or igniter alignment
- Orifices restricted
- Coated/oxidized or improperly connected flame sensor
- Restriction in flue and/or lack of combustion air
- Improper induced draft blower performance
What you can safely check yourself
- Make sure the gas is on - check that another gas appliance in the house still works
- Check that the furnace door panel is fully seated
- Set the thermostat to Heat and above room temperature
- Turn the furnace off at its power switch for 30 seconds and back on once to let it retry
When to call a technician
If it locks out again, the igniter, flame sensor, gas pressure or venting all need a technician.
A Amana furnace throwing this code repeatedly has a reason — clearing the code without fixing the cause just hides it.
